Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you want to know about dental IT support, HIPAA compliance, pricing, and what it's like to work with FlossByte.
General Questions
Managed IT support means FlossByte proactively monitors, maintains, and supports all the technology in your dental office — from workstations and servers to dental software and network equipment. Instead of calling IT when something breaks, we keep everything running smoothly so issues rarely happen in the first place.
FlossByte is built exclusively for dental practices. We know Dentrix, Eaglesoft, Carestream, and all major dental software. We understand HIPAA compliance requirements specific to dentistry. We know the critical nature of dental imaging systems and practice management software. General IT providers have to learn all of this — we already know it.
Yes! FlossByte serves dental practices of all sizes — from single-doctor solo offices to multi-location DSOs with dozens of providers. Our plans are flexible and scalable to fit your situation. We offer volume pricing for DSOs and multi-location groups.
HIPAA & Security
Yes. All FlossByte services are designed around HIPAA requirements. We sign Business Associate Agreements (BAAs) with all of our clients, implement the technical safeguards HIPAA requires, and provide documentation to support your compliance program. We also offer a dedicated HIPAA hardening add-on that includes a full risk assessment, policy development, and employee training.
Absolutely. As a Business Associate under HIPAA, FlossByte is required to sign a BAA before accessing any Protected Health Information (PHI). We make this a standard part of our onboarding process for every dental client.
FlossByte clients with our HIPAA compliance package have a documented Incident Response Plan ready to activate. We will work immediately to contain the breach, assess the scope of exposure, notify affected parties according to HIPAA breach notification rules, and coordinate with your legal counsel. We also provide data recovery from our maintained backups where applicable.
Pricing & Plans
Our managed IT plans start at $75/month per managed device. The total monthly investment depends on how many devices you have and which add-on services you select (like 24/7 support, cloud backups, HIPAA hardening, or dental software support). We provide itemized, transparent quotes — no hidden fees. Contact us for a free custom quote.
We believe in earning your business every month. Month-to-month plans are available with no long-term contract required. Annual agreements are available for practices that want the best rates and priority scheduling.
Yes. DSOs and multi-location groups receive volume pricing. The more locations and devices under management, the lower the per-device rate. Contact us to discuss an enterprise pricing arrangement for your group.
Software & Technical
FlossByte supports all major dental practice management and imaging software, including: Dentrix, Eaglesoft, Carestream Dental, Dexis, Curve Dental, Dolphin Imaging, Apteryx, and more. We also support Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, and all common business software.
Yes. We assist dental practices with software migrations, including moving from on-premise systems to cloud-based platforms. We plan migrations carefully to minimize downtime and ensure data integrity throughout the process.
Both. Most issues are resolved quickly via remote access, which is faster and avoids disrupting your patients. For hardware issues, new office setups, and complex projects, we dispatch a technician on-site. We cover the Peninsula & San Francisco, East Bay, and South Bay.
FlossByte provides dental IT support across three Bay Area regions: the Peninsula & San Francisco (SF, Daly City, Palo Alto, Menlo Park, San Mateo, Redwood City, Burlingame), East Bay (Oakland, Berkeley, Fremont, Hayward, Pleasanton, Walnut Creek, Concord), and South Bay (San Jose, Santa Clara, Sunnyvale, Cupertino, Milpitas).
